Telfree SIP Settings

For your office IP-PBX or PABX system or any other SIP device, you can use the following SIP registration configuration information to register to Telfree in South Africa. Details for other countries will be available soon or upon request.

SIP Configuration:

SIP REGISTRAR or SIP SERVER: sip99.telfreesa.com
SIP REGISTER PORT: 5060 or 6666
CODEC: G729

You will require an active Telfree account and you need to request your log in details for your account to register directly to the Telfree SIP gateway. To obtain your SIP login details, you need to log into your Telfree account and select your Telephony, then SIP Details.

Useful Tips

Set your SIP device to re-register as frequently as possible - at least every 60 seconds. This will ensure that your device regularly re-registers with the Telfree platform which becomes very important in the event of a dropped internet connection or access link.
Ensure voice does not compete with email, http or other protocols over your internet access link, as this may result in poor voice quality. It is very important to configure the Quality of Service on your internet access device (eg ADSL modem).
Ensure your device or Internet Service Provider's DNS (Domain Name Server) can resolve the SIP Registrar name to the correct IP address, as failure to do so will result in your device not being able to register to the Telfree Platform.
